India failed to restrict Australia to win the ODI series as the hosts registered a two-wicket win in the second ODI match at Adelaide Oval on October 23. However, the one positive for Men in Blue from

the game was Rohit Sharma ’s return in form after a poor show in the first ODI in Perth. The opening batter scored a crucial 73 runs off 97 balls as India put up a fighting total of 264/9 in their 50 overs.

Notably, there had been several speculations regarding Rohit Sharma’s future in the Indian team while some are also looking at this as his last series for Men in Blue. However, with his batting in Adelaide, Rohit showed that he can still turn out to be a star performer for India in the 50-over format. Between all this, India Head Coach Gautam Gambhir in a hilarious conversation with Rohit after the end of the second ODI. In a viral video, Gambhir can heard saying “Rohit, sabko lag raha tha ki aaj farewell match tha, ek photo to lagaa do,” to Rohit while the Indian players were walking towards team Hotel.

India aim to end ODI series on winning note in Sydney

India have already lost the ODI series against Australia after losing the first two matches in Perth and Adelaide respectively. Now, the Men in Blue will be looking to avoid a clean-sweep and register a win in the third and the final ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground on October 25.

The upcoming game can also turn out to be crucial for a few players like Virat Kohli, who is yeet to score a single run in this series. Apart from that, Shubman Gill will also look to win their first ODI match as captain and also led from the front with his bat.
