24-time Grand Slam champion and one of the greats of the game, Novak Djokovic on Monday, August 4 announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Cincinnati Open, set to be played from August 5 through August 18.
Hours prior to the start of the tournament, the Serbian confirmed his decision to pull out with the organisers confirming this update.
While this is the second consecutive year that the tournament will miss Djokovic, his decision to skip the US Open warm-up tournament comes after back-to-back semi-final losses at French Open and Wimbledon 2025, where he was beaten by World No. 1 Jannik Sinner.

The 38-year-old, who missed the last edition shortly after his gold medal win at the singles event at Paris Olympics 2024, this year, he cited non-medical reasons for his absence. Notably, the Serb, who is a three-time champion of the Concinnati Open, owns a 45-12 tournament record at the ATP Masters 1000.
The World No. 6 ranked is next scheduled to play at the US Open, where the main draw action is set to begin from August 24, with the final set to be played on September 7 in New York City. While he will aim to get his 25th Grand Slam singles title, eyeing to set all-time record for men’s and women’s singles combined, matching Margaret Court’s record in the women’s singles, he will be partnering with Olga Danilovic in the mixed doubles.
