In the pre-season friendly game between Al Nassr and Rio Eve held at the Estádio do Algarve on August 7, veteran Cristiano Ronaldoexuded confidence and helped the former side claim a comfortable 4-0 victory.
In the first half, Mohamed Sikan stepped up for Al Nassr and scored in the 15th minute of the contest. Before the conclusion of the first half, Ronaldo also showcased his mettle and notched up his maiden goal of the game. Joao Felix, who is the new signing for Nassr, assisted the legend to score. Following both goals, Ave desperately strove to make a comeback but their endeavour ended in Nelson Abbey handling the ball and handing a penalty opportunity to the eminent Saudi club.
Al Nassr captain Ronaldo was handed the penalty responsibility to Sadio Mane but he failed to utilise the opportunity. 16 seconds later, Ronaldo exhibited his ferocious side again and scored his second of the night with a header. Abbey again found himself in trouble as he went on to foul Felix which provided another penalty chance to Al Nassr. This time, Ronaldo took the matter into his hands and racked up another goal in the 68th minute. The goal took the game completely away from Rio.
Al Nassr’s next game against Almeria
After getting the better of Rio, Al Nassr will take on Almeria at Estadio Mediaterraneo on August 10. While talking about their next competitive match, they will clash against Al Ittehad in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final to be held on August 19.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s current form is an auspicious indication for Nassr, who will look to be impactful in the upcoming season of the Saudi Pro League. Since joining the club in 2022, he has scored 93 goals in 105 outings. Recently, his contract with Al Nassr got extended for two years until 2027.
