Oval Invincibles, the most successful team in The Hundred, are reportedly set to be rechristened, to become known as MI London. The change is expected to come into effect from 2026. In January 2025, Reliance
Sports wing, RISE Worldwide acquired a 49% stake in the English team after investing £61 million. The remaining 51% stake will go to Surrey County Cricket Club, who have been related with the franchise since 2021, when The Hundred started. MI’s global presence will be consolidated as they already own MI Cape Town in the SA 20, MI Emirates in ILT20, MI New York in Major League Cricket.
With the rebranding process, Oval Invincibles’ traditional cadet blue and green jersey will be replaced by MI’s illustrious blue and gold colours. The new identity will be disclosed ahead of the 2026 season, once the official ownership transfer is completed on October 1, 2025. With the takeover of MI, Oval is expected to go through a massive transition to reach new heights in the future.
