Indian batter Virat Kohli has reclaimed the No.1 spot in the latest ICC Men’s ODI rankings update after India’s four-wicket win over New Zealand in the first ODI. Kohli scored 93 runs off 91 balls and helped
India see through the chase as he came closer to India great Sachin Tendulkar and claimed the second spot in the men’s international run-scoring list. Virat Kohli has been in fine form since the third ODI in Australia, with scores of 74*, 135, 102, 65* and 93 in his last five outings.
Virat Kohli is back to top of the batting rankings for the first time since July 2021 after his knock in the opening march helped India. The rankings are updated every week on Wednesday and Kohli made the rise to Number 1 spot.
Kohli had gained the top ranking for the first time in October 2013 and it is his 11th time in the top spot. As of today, he has been top for a total of 825 days which is the tenth most by any player, and the most by any Indian. While kiwi all-rounder Daryl Mitchell also gained a spot in the ODI rankings, after a fierce knock of 84 off 71 in the first ODI, claiming his highest rating with just one rating point behind Kohli.

Mitchell has been in fine form, wherein he had held the No.1 spot, scoring three half-centuries in his last five ODIs and a century against the West Indies as well. Left hand batter Devon Conway climbed three spots to secure the 29th position as he continues to score runs at the top.
In the ODI bowlers ranking update, a fine performance by Mohammed Siraj who picked up two wickets saw him rise five spots to sit in the 15th position along side Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz. New Zealand quick Kyle Jamieson also went up after delivering his career-best bowling performance after snapping a four-wicket haul against India, jumping 27 spots to share get to 69th rank.
