A belter of a move by the RCB
Strategic, high profile and very important - these are some of the adjectives that can be used to describe on of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's very key moves as seen in the more recent times. And this one marquee deal pertains to the last to last season, for 2024. In what would be among the high-profile moves made by RCB, the team would acquire Australian star Cameron Green. One of the game's finest and most critically rising all rounders, he was expected to up the ante of the RCB attack on the whole. Up until the, he had been a key member of the Mumbai Indians side. And after spending a very fine season with the Mumbai franchise, the tall Aussie would spend time for just one season with the Bengaluru-based franchise who had got him on board for a staggering ₹17.5 crore.
However, the partnership was short-lived. After just one season, Green sustained a back injury, prompting RCB to release him ahead of the 2025 season.
A significant RCB trade deal!
A particular trade deal executed by the famous Royal Challengers Bengaluru camp that proved exceptionally fruitful for their franchise pertained to the acquisition of Harshal Patel during the 2020 season. Now if you think about it, it was half a decade back in the day. But a move that would be a valuable one. However, at the beginning of it, this move was initially considered as an understated one, it would soon become evident that the fast bowler Harshal Patel was a vital asset to RCB's set-up.
