World Cup 2025 semi-final. While the Women in Blue went down against the Aussies side in the league stage, but the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side avenged their defeat in the semi-final to setup a final clash against South Africa Women.
While the Indian side stood strong in the 339-run chase and pulled off the record chase in 48.3 overs, courtesy an unbeaten 127 off 134 by Jemimah Rodrigues and a crucial 88-ball 89 from Harmanpreet Kaur. During her stay in the middle, the top-order batter smashed 14 boundaries at a strike rate of 94.78 and guided the side over the line.

While Rohit Sharma was quick to share a story for the winners, his teammate and legend Virat Kohli later took to X to hail the brilliant effort of the side. “What a victory by our team over a mighty opponent like Australia. A great chase by the girls and a standout performance by Jemimah in a big game. A true display of resilience, belief, and passion. Well done, Team India!” Virat Kohli captioned the post on X.
Several other Indian cricketers, including Mohammed Shami, legend Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, head coach Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, among others also took to X to hail the fighting effort of the Indian women’s team.
