Real Madrid later this month. The captain of Poland, who is 37 years of age, last featured for the national team during their 2-0 win over Lithuania in the World Cup qualifying match on October 12, scoring one of the goals before the news about his injury came to being.
In a post on their official X account, Barcelona gave the “medical news” about Robert Lewandowski, stating that he “has suffered a muscle tear in the biceps femoris of his left thigh. His recovery time will depend on how the injury evolves.” He is set to not feature in Barcelona’s upcoming home clash against Girona in La Liga on Saturday, October 18, at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

After that, the Catalan giants will face Olympiakos at home in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) on Tuesday, October 21 before travelling to Santiago Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid in a La Liga clash on October 26. While Barcelona haven’t confirmed the amount of time Robert Lewandowski could end up missing due to injury, there have been reports circulating in the media that he is expected to be sidelined for four weeks.
The statement from Barcelona on the matter read, “Robert Lewandowski has suffered a hamstring injury in his left thigh. He will be sidelined, and his recovery time will depend on how the injury progresses.” Moreover, with the Polish captain not available for selection, he has joined the extensive list of injured players on the Barcelona bench, including the likes of Raphinha, Dani Olmo, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Gavi, and Joan Garcia.
