with several controversies. The most talked about controversies in this year’s Asia Cup was the rivalry between India and Pakistan. The arch-rivals faced each other three times in this Asia Cup including group stage, super fours and the final with the Men in Blue coming out victorious on all three occasions and lifting the title.
However, apart from the game of cricket, it was the rivalry between India and Pakistan which added more spice in the excitement of the tournament. There had been tensions at the border of both nations earlier in the year and the things were also looking tensed when both the teams met on the field as there was no hand shake. Apart from that, Pakistani players also did controversial plane crash gestures which provoked the Indian fans. Suryalumar Yadav also made political remarks after the match.
Haris Rauf banned for two matches, Suryukumar Yadav loses 30% match fees
As a consequence of the drama in the Asia Cup 2025, the ICC (International Cricket Council) took action against Haris Rauf and Suryakumar Yadav as the Pakistani pacer has been handed a two-match ban while the Indian skipper has been fined 30% of his match fees.
Apart from that, Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan, who also made a gun firing gesture during a Super 4s clash is left with a warning by the ICC. The hearing was done by the members of the ICC's Elite Panel of the match referees during the Asia Cup 2025.
