India have confirmed their place in the super fours of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 with consecutive wins in their first two matches in Group A. The Men in Blue started their campaign with a dominant nine-wicket
win over UAE. After that, they defeated arch-rivals Pakistan to register back-to-back wins and became the first side to qualify for the super fours.
Now, India will take on Oman in the last league stage game of Asia Cup at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 19. The game will not make any impact in the tournament and India are likely to rest their star pacer Jasprit Bumrah from their playing XI for the upcoming match. As Bumrah is reported to miss the next game against Oman, it will open doors for other pacers including the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. It will be interesting to see which pacer will India pick from Harshit or Arshdeep in place of Bumrah.
Who will replace Jasprit Bumrah in Asia Cup 2025 clash vs Oman
India will take on Oman in match number 12 of Asia Cup 2025 in Abu Dhabi on September 19. In that game, one of the players from Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh are likely to make it to the playing XI. Harshit has played just one T20I game for India against England in January 2025. On the other hand, Arshdeep is currently the leading wicket-taker for India in the T20I format with 99 scalps in 63 matches.
Looking at the experience, Arshdeep Singh is likely to get a place in the playing XI in the upcoming match against Oman. With this, Arshdeep also has a chance to become the first Indian player to complete 100 T20I wickets. There are more chances that India pick Arshdeep over Harshit as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah in India’s playing XI against Oman.
