In the divergent, widely competitive and hugely entertaining world of the famous Indian Premier League, many have come and left the grand stage and made a sizeable impact towards not only propelling their
own T20 franchise league careers but made the IPL a household name. The sublime talents, their all round contributions and them being big newsmakers so something inspirational. There are too many to quote here and we are familiar with their zeal and element. Think the likes of MS Dhoni (lest we forget, still around in the IPL), Lasith Malinga, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, AB de Villiers and the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma (representing RCB and MI, respectively). But then there are also those enterprising young names that are - to put it mildly- as rare as they come. One such astounding talent going strong in the world of the IPL is Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
So the big question is this- what is the latest feat that is making Vaibhav Suryavanshi gather more momentum as per normal, for in his case, making headlines has become but the norm (with each passing contest)?
Well, here is what you ought to note. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has now become the youngest batter as on date to 500 IPL runs.
Let that sink in
For someone who broke all sorts of records when aged just 13, lest we forget, just 13 made his IPL debut to now having struck - and gone past- 500 IPL runs at the tender age of just 15, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has yet again earned another career high.
And this, by the way is still very largely a developing career
Is it not? As on April 22, 2026 playing the contest against the Lucknow Supergiants, Vaibhav Suryavanshi clocked 500 runs in his Indian Premier League career. This, before one forgets or undermines, was just his 15th IPL contest.
He has already earned the celebratory feat of scoring an IPL hundred and as far as this current season or edition of the series is concerned, then the brave left hander has been scoring runs easily north of 200 particularly in the PowePlay.
Just weeks ago, the young Bihar-born cricketing prodigy struck a fifteen ball half century. The same came at the very start of the season for him in a memorable outing against the Chennai Super Kings.
Since then, the attacking left hander who seemingly doesn’t seem at all concerned whether facing medium pace, raw pace or spin, struck some memorable knocks (already). He struck a fine 78 v the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and even scored a rampant 46 v the KKR side. He also scored two fluent knocks in the thirties against MI and GT.
As the tournament further progressed and more batting opportunities come his way, one can submit with quiet confidence that someone like Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be raring to go, scoring more runs along the way and in the process, resuscitate the current fortunes of his Rajathan side.
After all, having begun begin well which he certainly has in 2026 is half the job done; he will be gunning for more and to get more runs than he already has. What do you reckon!
