The Salman Ali Agha-led side are next scheduled to take on arch-rivals India in a high-octane clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 14. If we execute our plans, we can beat ny team: Salman Ali Agha ahead of IND vs PAK
Speaking at the post match press conference after leading his side to 93-run win over Oman, the middle-order batter was asked of their preparations ahead of the India clash. "We have been playing good cricket in the last 2-3 months and we just have to play good cricket. If we can execute our plans for a long enough period, we are good enough to beat any team," Agha said.
Talking of Pakistan’s last match, which came against Oman on Friday, September 12, after opting to bat first, they made 160/7 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy Mohammad Haris’ fluent 66 off 43. Followed by Haris’ bizarre batting, the Pakistan bowlers stepped up and bundled out Oman for just 67 in 16.4 overs to register 93-run win. Saim Ayub, Faheem Ashraf and Sufiyan Muqeem picked two wickets apiece, Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed and Md Nawaz also got one each to their name.
Notably, this will be Team India’s second match against Pakistan this year after their last came during the Champions Trophy 2025. However, this will be the first time that the two nations will take the field against each other in T20Is, since India’s T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados last year. Speaking of their match in the Asia Cup, their last outing came in 2023 in Colombo when India beat Pakistan by 228 runs.
