gone through a lot of struggles in the last one year but in this match, he showed fighting spirit and delivered a 222-run innings to Maharashtra off just 156. In his courageous knock, he hit 34 boundaries. Maharashtra, who were already enjoying a 104-run lead after the first innings, saw themselves in the commanding position after Shaw’s double century.
Earlier, in the first innings, the opener fell on a duck against pacer Jagjit Singh, so it was crucial for him to be impactful in the second innings. Prithvi Shaw batted formidably and took Chandigarh’s bowling attack to the cleaners. He completed his double ton in just 141 balls. Riding on his exceptional batting show, Maharashtra erected a total of 359/3 in 52 overs.
