a popular talk show over the years where popular celebrities have unfiltered conversations with the host Karan Johar.
Recently, Karan Johar revealed why Virat Kohli never been on his show and also remembered the controversy after he called Indian cricketers including KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya on the show back in 2019. Till now, KL and Harfik are the only cricketers who appeared as guests in Koffee with Karan so far.
Not calling any cricketer after what happened with KL and Hardik: Karan Johar
Karan Johar recently appeared in a podcast with former Tennis player Sania Mirza where he revealed why Virat Kohli never appeared on Koffee with Karan. The popular filmmaker also decided not to call any Indian cricketer after the controversy after he called KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya on the show back in 2019. During that time, star Indian all-rounder Pandya made some controversial remarks which sparked criticism among fans.
“I have never asked Virat. And now, I am not asking any cricketers after what happened with Hardik (Pandya) and (KL) Rahul. There are many who I just felt wouldn’t come, so I never asked them in the first place," Karan Johar said as quoted in India Today.
Karan Johar said that he had to reconsider calling Indian cricketers on the show after Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul controversy. Pandya’s comments seemed inappropriate among fans which led to consequences for both the cricketers in a World Cup year.
