India star batter Virat Kohli arrived in Vadodara on Wednesday (January 7) ahead of the first ODI against New Zealand which is scheduled on January 11 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. There was plenty
of excitement among fans at the airport. As Virat Kohli made his exit towards Airport, fans started mobbing the star player. There were plenty of people and this was captured by news portals like ANI. Fans were seeking autographs and selfies. Watch the video of this incident.
This is one of the main reason why Virat Kohli shifted to London. In multiple interviews Kohli has said that he could move in the public freely without any hindrance in the UK while in India due to his massive popularity there are always fans waiting to get a glimpse of the superstar. Today was another proof of the fan culture that runs in India. There were plenty of people waiting for hours just to get a glimpse of the champion batter. Whereas in London, Virat Kohli has been able to move outside and visit public places without being approached by fans.
Virat Kohli will be in action in the first One Day against New Zealand on January 11. The tickers are already sold out showing the craze for the star batter. Fans will be wanting to witness the man himself create his magic with the bat and continue scoring runs. He was in great form in the South Africa series scoring a couple of centuries in the three matches and even in the two VHT matches that he has played, Virat has been in fine form scoring 131 and 77 in those games.

This New Zealand series will be India’s first international outing of 2026, featuring three ODIs and five T20Is.
