Kolkata Knight Riders’ batters Cameron Green and Angkrish Raghuvanshi got engaged in a horrible mix-up leading to the former’s dismissal. On Thursday, the Knight Riders welcomed the SunRisers Hyderabad
in the sixth clash of the IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens. Batting first, the guests put on a solid display of batting prowess and posted a mammoth total of 226 runs, riding on Heinrich Klassen’s 52 runs, along with Travis Head and Abhishek Verma’s nearly-missed half centuries.
In return, the hosts got off to a disappointing start as skipper Ajinkya Rahane could manage to score only 8 runs off 10 deliveries. However, Finn Allen, who came in as an impact player, tried to give his side some stability with his 28 runs off 7 balls. However, in the sixth over, Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green engaged in a horrible mix-up, leading to Green’s dismissal at only 2 runs.
Notably, the young lad hit straight back to a Eshan Malinga’s delivery, who stuck his boot and half stopped the ball. The Aussie first ensured that he was back in the crease but when saw his teammate take a start, decided to go for a single. The Indian batter failed to spot the ball and ended up pausing, by which time his teammate was already halfway down the pitch. Left with no other option, Raghuvanshi went for the run, and by that time, Malonga picked up the ball and ended up lighting the stumps.
Earlier, Raghuvanshi started to walk back to the dug out but after a review by the third umpire, Green was given out.
Miscommunication between Rinku Singh and Raghuvanshi leads to another run-out for KKR
Later during the 11th over, another incident of miscommunication took place between Rinku Singh and Raghuvanshi, leading to the latter’s run-out. Notably, Singh made a cut off Shivang Kumar’s delivery, and the ball went to the left of the backward point. Singh took off for a single, but turned back seeing the fielder picking up the ball. However, by that time, Raghuvanshi was almost halfway down the pitch, and wasn’t left with any time to return.
Hence, he was forced to walk back to the pavilion at 52 runs off 29 deliveries off four boundaries and two maximums.
