While competing in challenging conditions, Neeraj delivered his season-best performance in Glasgow with a best throw of 85.83m. India's golden boy, however, could not go past Pathirage's standout performance and had to settle for silver in the men's javelin final.

Winning gold was definitely on Neeraj's mind, but he delivered a remarkable performance, sealing a podium finish after coming off a lengthy layoff due to a persistent lower back injury. The javelin star would aim for even better throws in the upcoming competitions.
With the 2026 Asian Games happening soon, the onus would be on Neeraj to deliver against what is expected to be a competitive line-up in Aichi-Nagoya.

The 24-year-old bettered his previous best of 83.72m in his sixth and final attempt, despite facing a stern challenge from a solid line-up that included stars such as Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem and Grenada's Anderson Peters.
