Delhi Capitals (DC) face off against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 8 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the capital city on Saturday, April 4, in the first game of the double header.
Both sides come into the game on the back of securing their maiden wins. DC secured an away win against Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets after bundling the hosts out for just 141.
MI, on the other hand, defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders following an epic run chase. The
five-time champions chased down 221 with six wickets in hand after openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton forged a 148-run partnership off just 11.5 overs.
Both DC and MIplayed each other twice last season, with the Hardik Pandya-led side coming out on top on both occasions. This included a 12-run victory for MI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in April 2025. Batting first, Mumbai put 205 on the board after Tilak Varma’s 59 off 33 balls. In reply, DC were restricted to 193 after Karn Sharma came in as an Impact Sub to take three wickets.
The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is widely considered to be a batting paradise. Last year saw the Sunrisers Hyderabad post a mammoth 278 on the board while batting first against KKR last year. With quality batters on both sides, fans can expect yet another high-scoring game on Saturday afternoon.
