The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 will be remembered as a season dominated by batters, even as Vidarbha finally clinched their maiden title. The tournament saw several standout batting performances, with
Vidarbha opener Aman Mokhade finishing as the highest run-scorer of the season with 814 runs.
Although Mokhade fell short of a big score in the final, the man of the moment was Atharva Taide, who hit 128 in the title clash against Saurashtra. His knock anchored Vidarbha’s total of 317. The final itself displayed how crucial runs at the top were, even as Vidarbha’s bowlers later sealed a 38-run victory.
