In a major development ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction, wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson is reportedly set to return to the Delhi Capitals, with the franchise planning to trade
Tristan Stubbs to the Rajasthan Royals (RR). The trade discussions come with just about a month left before the mini-auction.
With Samson likely to part ways with Rajasthan, both franchises have been actively involved in negotiations, exploring multiple trade options as per a TOI report. However, the report indicates that while Delhi Capitals are keen to secure Samson’s services, they are hesitant to release any of their core players.
Meanwhile, Indian Test opener KL Rahul’s name was also mentioned during the trade talks. However, Delhi were unwilling to let go of him, given that he was one of their standout performers last season and continues to hold significant brand value for the franchise.
