The WPL 2027 players' auction is set for October 28, 2026, at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi, Kerala, with 146 players competing for 27 available slots across five franchises. Of those slots, 20 are reserved for Indian players, and the auction pool includes as many as 97 uncapped Indian cricketers.
With the retention deadline having passed on September 28, 2026, franchises are now looking to fill gaps in their squads ahead of a season scheduled to run from January 14 to February 7, 2027.
Here are five uncapped Indian players who could draw significant attention when bidding opens:
Gongadi Trisha
Gongadi Trisha,
a 21-year-old right-hand bat and right-arm leg-spin all-rounder, enters the auction with a base price of ₹10 lakh. Her most notable credential is her role in India's squad that lifted the 2025 U-19 Women's T20 World Cup title.
In that tournament, Trisha accumulated 309 runs at an average of 77.25 and a strike rate of 147.14, numbers that underline her value as a genuine two-way contributor. Her ability to chip in with the ball alongside those batting returns makes her an attractive option for franchises seeking all-round balance in their Indian slots.
Vrinda Dinesh
Vrinda Dinesh is a 25-year-old right-hand batter who also bowls right-arm off-spin and enters the auction at a base price of ₹10 lakh. She is among the uncapped Indian players identified as ones to watch ahead of the October 28 auction.
Franchises seeking domestic batting depth at the top order are likely to take note of Dinesh, whose ability to score at a brisk pace is cited as her primary attraction. She was also part of India's U-19 World Cup-winning group, adding a pedigree that could prompt competitive bidding from teams looking to strengthen their Indian batting resources.
Ira Jadhav
Ira Jadhav is a right-hand batter and right-arm fast-medium bowler listed at a base price of ₹10 lakh. At just 15 years of age, she is among the youngest players in the entire auction pool, with Wisden's auction records noting her age as 16.
She announced herself emphatically in the U-19 Women's One-Day Trophy, where she struck 346 runs from 157 deliveries, a return that drew widespread attention to her attacking instincts. Franchises with an eye on long-term squad building are expected to view her as a worthwhile investment given those numbers at such a young age.
Shabnam Shakil
Shabnam Shakilis a pace-bowling option from India who enters the WPL 2027 auction with prior WPL experience already on her record. That familiarity with the competition's demands sets her apart from many other uncapped names in the pool.
Her ability to create problems for established batters makes her a player franchises strengthening their Indian pace attack will want to consider. Teams that lost a seamer during the retention window or need additional variety in their bowling unit are among those likely to show interest when her name comes up at the Kochi auction.
Shivani Singh
Shivani Singh is a wicketkeeper-batter who could prove a practical solution for franchises that need additional depth behind the stumps as well as in the batting order. Her performances in domestic cricket have placed her name firmly in the conversation ahead of the October 28 auction.
With only 20 Indian slots available across five teams, specialist wicketkeeper-batters who can contribute with the bat tend to attract competitive bids. Singh's dual capability makes her a name that teams seeking cover in both departments are likely to monitor closely when the auction gets underway in Kochi.
