'I can’t even go in a normal car, have to go in my bulletproof car' - Rashid Khan discusses life in Afghanistan, stuns Kevin Pietersen

Celebrities often opt to keep a low profile in order to avoid being mobbed by the fans. However, Afghanistan's talismanic all-rounder Rashid Khan is forced to travel in a bulletproof car in his country

to ensure personal safety.

During an intriguing interaction with Kevin Pietersen, the white-ball legend shared his hardships while living in Afghanistan. The former England batter was visibly rattled after hearing about Rashid's experiences.

“No chance. I can’t even go in a normal car. I have to have a bulletproof car. I travel in my own bulletproof car only,” Rashid said when asked what daily life is like back home," Rashid said.

When asked why he opts to take such a precautionary measure, the Gujarat Titans' cricketer said that he knows nobody is going to fire at him on purpose, but there is always the risk of being hit by stray bullets in a gunfight.

“Yeah, I have to. I need it. It’s for my safety. No one is going to shoot me. But maybe, if I end up in the wrong place and in the wrong time. It’s locked and sometimes people even try to open it,” he said.

The English stalwart could only respond with astonishment, terming the situation “fascinating." Rashid added that the vehicle was specially built for him and that such measures are quite common in the country.

“Yeah, I got it specially made. So many people use it. That’s a normal thing in Afghanistan,” Rashid explained.
