[Watch] Ishan Kishan takes Tripurana Vijay to the cleaners during 21-run over in Duleep Trophy 2026 final

Ishan Kishan produced a dominant passage of batting on Day 4 of the Duleep Trophy 2026 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The East Zone captain took on Tripurana Vijay in the 26th over of the second innings, striking two sixes and two fours to plunder 21 runs from the single over.

The BCCI Domestic account on X shared footage of the over, giving fans a close look at Kishan's aggressive approach against the Andhra Pradesh off-spinner. The clip captured each of the four attacking strokes

that made up the 20-run haul.

Vijay's first-innings effort against East Zone's 708

Vijay had been a key figure for South Zone throughout the match. In East Zone's first innings, the off-spinner sent down 42 overs and claimed four wickets for 180 runs. His victims in that innings included Sudip Kumar Gharami, Kumar Kushagra, Kishan himself and Mukesh Kumar, with the last of those wickets coming on the final ball of the innings.

Kishan had scored 270 off 334 balls in that first innings, a knock described as record-breaking that was central to East Zone posting a total of 708 in 163 overs. Kushagra also contributed a century of 101 during that innings. Vijay had dismissed Kishan to end that mammoth knock, making the Day 4 counter-attack a notable reversal of fortunes between the two players.

Kishan and the second-innings context on Day 4

South Zone ended Day 3 on 242 for six, trailing East Zone by 466 runs. When East Zone batted again in their second innings on Day 4, they lost Abhimanyu Easwaran for 3, caught at first slip off Mohammed Siraj, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for 8 off 16 balls, stumped off Vijay. Kishan then steadied the innings alongside Shikhar Mohan, with East Zone reaching 95 for two at tea.

Kishan's second-innings contribution came to a close when he was dismissed after scoring 80 runs from 98 balls. The Duleep Trophy 2026 final was also notable for Vijay in terms of his recent schedule, as the match was his first competitive appearance since representing Delhi Capitals against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, which had been his only IPL outing. The final is being played at Chepauk, with the match still in progress on Day 4.
