The Ireland Women's (IRE-W)'s tour of South Africa will come to an end when they face the South Africa Women (SA-W) for the third ODI on Friday, December 19 at the iconic venue of The Wanderers Stadium
in Johannesburg. The game is a dead rubber, as the hosts have already won the series.
The Proteas have been at their absolute best throughout the white-ball series. They started the tour by whitewashing the visitors in the three-match T20I series, and carried the performance in the couple of ODIs as well, winning both of them convincingly to seal the series win. Laura Wolvaardt & Co. will simply be hoping for a whitewash in the ODIs by clinching a victory in the last match as well.
Ireland Women, on the other hand, haven't been able to stage any real fight across the five games on the tour so far. The Gaby Lewis-led unit hasn't been able to stand straight in front of a power-packed line-up of the hosts, which has costed them a huge disappointment. However, they will look to bringing A-game in the upcoming match to end the series on a high and return home with something to cheer about.

SA W vs IRE W Probable Top Performers
Probable Best Batter: Laura Wolvaardt
With three centuries in her last five One-Day Internationals, Laura Wolvaardt is arguably seeing herself in the form of her life. After a stellar campaign with the bat in the ODI World Cup, no one has been able to restrict the flow of runs from her blade. Her majestic 124 in Gqeberha helped the Proteas seal the series against the Irishwomen, as they took an unassailable lead. With runs, form, and conditions being on her side, Wolvaardt is expected to play yet another memorable knock in the upcoming match.
Probable Best Bowler: Jane Maguire
After missing the opening match of the series, Jane Maguire came to Gqeberha and was the most impactful bowler for her side despite the loss. She gave away 75 runs in her 10 overs, but that was not before picking up three important wickets, giving crucial breakthroughs and showing fight for the Irish side. If she is able to produce one more such spell in the 3rd ODI, Ireland may return home with a consolation won, as they have nothing more left to lose.
