'What is the evidence?' - Palash Muchhal's lawyer on cheating allegations

Singer-composer Palash Muchhal's advocate Shreyansh Mithare has responded to fresh claims made by Smriti Mandhana's childhood friend and actor-producer Vidnyan Mane. Vidnyan recently alleged Palash to have

cheated on Smriti on their wedding day and also to have swindled him of INR 40 lakh in relation to an investment made in an unreleased movie.

Mithare urged Vidnyan to generate credible evidence. He also questioned why Vidnyan stayed quiet for so long and opened up only after the marriage was called off.  

“He (Vidnyan) claims he has paid us money, but there is no evidence whether he paid by cheque or bank transfer. All the allegations about Palash being caught with another woman — what is the evidence? We don’t know this guy; we met him through Smriti’s father (Shrinivas). We have no direct connection with him. Why did he keep quiet for so long? It’s only after the marriage broke that he (Vidnyan) has turned up. Palash is exploring his legal options," stated Mithare, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

For the unversed, Vidnyan recently alleged Palash to be caught red-handed with another woman. He also revealed how Palash's mother and his family blackmailed him to pay up an additional amount for the budget of an unreleased movie. 

“I was at the wedding celebrations (November 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayaanak scene tha (it was a terrifying scene), he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers. When I met his mother (Amita Muchhal) last month, she said the budget to release the movie has now increased to INR 1.5 crore. They asked me to invest another INR 10 lakh or I wouldn’t get any money back. They started blackmailing me and threatened to throw me out of the film, thus I was forced to file a complaint,” noted Vidnyan.

Smriti is currently leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in the 2026 Women's Premier League. She has been instrumental in captaining the franchise this season.
