The Rajasthan Royals (RR) take on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 64 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Tuesday, May 19.
The Royals come into the clash on the back of a five-wicket loss to the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, May 17. They sit on 12 points from 12 games, and come into the clash knowing that a slip-up could derail their playoff hopes.
They need two wins in their final two home games if they are to make the final four
of the 2026 season. This has once more been a season where the Royals have shown promise with an incredibly exciting team, but have failed to translate it into results.
Here is the strongest predicted RR XI for Match 64 vs LSG:
Top order: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel (wk),
Young southpaws Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi have set the IPL ablaze with their blistering starts. Soryavanshi has carried on brilliantly into his sophomore year of the IPL, scoring 486 runs at an impressive strike rate of 234.78. His form has seen Jaiswal play almost second-fiddle, scoring 327 runs, striking at 156.45.
Dhruv Jurel has been handed a promotion to number 3 for the Royals in 2026. He has scored 367 runs at a strike rate of 151.65, holding fort and playing in a traditional anchor-accumulator role. He has been the backbone of the Royals’ innings, with others often batting around him. Along with this, he has been fantastic behind the stumps, dismissing batters with acrobatic catches and stumpings.
Middle order: Riyan Parag (capt), Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubham Dubey (Impact)
Captain Riyan Parag started the season slowly, but has begun to find form with the bat as the later stages of the season came by. He scored a 26-ball 51 against the Capitals, an innings where he took on the bowlers apart with brilliant flair. He has scored 258 runs at a strike rate of 151.76.
Donovan Ferreira has been one of the revelations for the Royals in 2026, contributing reliably as a finisher. He has scored 233 runs at a strike rate of 176.51, taking bowlers apart in the back end of the innings.
Shubham Dubey has contributed with vital runs in the back end of the innings. He has added an extra batting option for the Royals, adding impetus in the back end of the innings.
Ravindra Jadeja was rested against the Capitals due to workload management. The returning all-rounder has been a reliable presence with both bat and ball, scoring vital runs and picking up key wickets when he has been called upon.
Lower order/bowlers: Dasun Shanaka, Jofra Archer, Adam Milne, Brijesh Sharma, Yash Raj Punja
Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka is a reliable customer with both bat and ball, but has not been called up as often. He came in as the impact player against the Capitals, scoring 10 runs with the bat and picking up figures of 1 for 29 with the ball.
Jofra Archer has been the Royals’ most reliable seamer, but has seen a drop in form in the last few games. He has 17 wickets in 12 games and has been the Royals’ main strike bowler in 2026.
Adam Milne made his debut for the Royals against the Capitals, but was expensive. The former New Zealand international is a reliable name in the global franchise circuit.
Brijesh Shrama is yet another domestic fast bowler who has shone in IPL 2026, with 11 wickets in nine games, coming at an economy of 9.89. The 20-year-old leg-spinner Yash Punja has shown promise with his bowling, picking up four wickets in the four games he has played.
