Pakistan T20I Tri-Series 2025, 4th T20I Review: Farhan-Babar stand and Tariq’s 4-for power Pakistan to third straight win

Pakistan secured a commanding 69-run victory over Zimbabwe in the T20I Tri-Series on Sunday, November 23, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. With this result, Pakistan have now recorded three consecutive wins in the tournament, solidifying their position at the top of the standings.

After winning the toss, the hosts had elected to bat first, with Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub opening the innings. Ayub managed 13 runs before being dismissed by Brad Evans. Farhan was then joined by former captain Babar

Azam, and together they built an impressive 103-run partnership off 77 deliveries for the second wicket, laying a strong foundation for the hosts.

Farhan played a fluent knock of 63 off 41 balls, striking four boundaries and three sixes. Babar continued his excellent form with a well-compiled 74 from 52 deliveries, featuring seven fours and two sixes. Towards the end of the innings, Fakhar Zaman provided valuable acceleration, smashing 27 off just 10 balls with three maximums. Pakistan concluded their innings at a formidable 195/5 in 20 overs. For Zimbabwe, skipper Sikandar Raza stood out with the ball, claiming 2/39 in his four-over spell.

The visitors, in response, struggled to keep up with the required run rate and were eventually bowled out for 126 in 19 overs. Ryan Burl was the lone warrior for the visitors, remaining unbeaten on 67 from 49 deliveries, hitting eight fours and two sixes. However, the lack of support from the other batters meant the Chevrons never truly threatened the total set by the Agha Salman-led side.

Pakistan’s bowling unit delivered another disciplined performance. Usman Tariq led the attack brilliantly, finishing with exceptional figures of 4/18 from four overs, including a maiden. Tariq also bagged a hat-trick with his exceptional bowling, becoming the fourth Pakistan bowler ever to do so in T20Is. Mohammad Nawaz also contributed effectively, picking up a couple of wickets by giving away 21.

With three wins from three matches, Pakistan comfortably sit at the top of the table. Zimbabwe occupy second place with one victory, while Sri Lanka remain winless after two games. Sri Lanka will now face both Pakistan and Zimbabwe in their remaining fixtures as they look to revive their campaign. The tournament final is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, with all three teams aiming to secure a spot in the title clash.
