The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) return to Eden Gardens in search of their maiden win of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) when they take on an in-form Punjab Kings (PBKS) side in Match 12.
KKR desperately need a win under their belt after losing their opening two matches against the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chasing 227 against SRH at home, the three-time champions were all out for a mere 161, thus losing the contest by 65 runs. Ajinkya Rahane’s side have particularly struggled with
the ball, with the likes of Varun Chakravarthy not being at their brilliant best.
PBKS, on the other hand, have made an excellent start to their 2026 campaign. After beating the Gujarat Titans in their opening game of the new season, last year’s finalists beat the Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk by five wickets. Chasing 210, PBKS made a blistering start through Priyansh Arya’s 11-ball 39, before Shreyas Iyer’s half-century saw them secure the win.
