Ace Indian batter Virat Kohliwas spotted in an intense conversation with recently-appointed selection committee member Pragyan Ojha at the Ranchi airport. India are currently involved in a three-match
ODI series against South Africa. Kohli was seen sitting alongside Ojha and seemed to be conveying a message as the latter nodded.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir and former Deccan Chargers teammates Rohit and Ojha were also snapped in what seemed like a fun interaction between the trio. They were seen smiling while talking with each other.
As for the series-opening ODI, Kohli emerged as the Player of the Match as his 52nd ODI century helped India post a 349/8 at the end of 50 overs. Kohli's 120-ball 135 comprised 11 fours and seven sixes while half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul also helped India put a formidable total on the board.
The Proteas were reduced to 11/3 in the fifth over during the run-chase, however, half-centuries from Matthew Breetzke, Marco Jansen and Corbin Bosch brought the tourists within a touching distance of India's total. Kuldeep Yadav's four-wicket haul proved to be the difference-maker as South Africa eventually fell short by 17 runs.
India, who are coming off a 0-2 loss in the Test series, have the perfect opportunity of sealing the 50-over leg by winning the second ODI in Raipur on December 3. The third and final match will be played in Visakhapatnam on December 6. The ODI series will be followed by five T20Is.
