Yuvraj Singh has done a commendable job, nurturing talents behind the scenes, providing them with an opportunity to hone their skills before they stake a claim for spots in the senior national team. In the past, the legendary former India all-rounder helped the likes of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma to improve their cricket. Now, the Punjab duo is opening the batting for India in the Asia Cup and demolishing opposition bowling attacks. Gill has also been appointed as the captain of the Indian
Test team.
Both Gill and Abhishek have acknowledged the contribution of Yuvraj in their careers. Now, the 43-year-old has been spotted training the likes of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. This duo opened for Punjab Kings in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) and lit up the tournament with their exhilarating strokeplay.
Punjab Kings shared the image of Arya and Prabhsimran's training session with Yuvraj with the caption “Learning from the OG #YuvrajSingh.” Incidentally, the Chandigarh-born was Punjab Kings' first-ever captain in the inaugural IPL season in 2008.
Prabhsimran has been named in India A's squad for the three-match one-day series against Australia A, which will be played from September 30 to October 5 at Green Park, Kanpur. He is expected to play all three matches, with Abishek Porel being the other wicketkeeping option in the lineup. Arya has also been picked in the side, but only for the first match.
Earlier this year, Prabhsimran finished with 549 runs from 17 innings at an average of 32.29 and a strike rate of 160.53. Meanwhile, Arya aggregated 475 runs in 17 innings, averaging 27.94 at a strike rate of 179.25.
Prabhsimran and Arya's practice sessions with Yuvraj are surely going to be beneficial for them as they look to impress the selectors while playing against a strong Australia A side.
