The clash between India Women and Pakistan Women is currently underway in the Women’s World Cup 2025, Match No. 6, at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Pakistan skipper Sana Fatima
won the toss and opted to field first, with several controversies already unfolding before and during the game.
An unusual incident occurred when the Pakistan skipper had a brief discussion with the on-field umpires. The ground was swarming with bugs, which irritated bowlers and fielders, making it difficult to perform their duties properly. In response, a substitute fielder came out from the pavilion carrying a spray.
She sprayed around the pitch area and even a couple of sprays on the bowler’s jersey in an attempt to keep the insects at bay. However, the spray proved largely ineffective, as the bugs continued to swarm around the playing area, disrupting the flow of the game.

First, some towel-waving. Now, some spraying.
Insects (briefly) stop play.
Cricket, a sport that shares name with an insect ironically. 😅 pic.twitter.com/qDefy1zkNp
