India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav got engaged to his childhood friend, Vanshika, in June 2025. Their engagement ceremony grabbed significant attention, and ever since, people have been eager to know more
about the woman soon to become Kuldeep’s wife. Notably, the wedding is expected to be later this month, and the cricketer is even set to miss matches due to the celebration.
Who is Vanshika?
Vanshika was born and brought up in Shyam Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Professionally, she works with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Kuldeep and Vanshika have known each other since childhood. Their long friendship slowly led to a love story. Though she maintains a low profile, those close to Kuldeep say Vanshika has always been a crucial support in his life.
On June 4, 2025, the couple got engaged in an intimate ceremony in Lucknow, attended by close family and a few friends, including India batter Rinku Singh. The event remained private, but the photos that surfaced quickly went viral.
Kuldeep was seen wearing a cream Bandhgala suit, while Vanshika was in a bright orange lehenga. The couple had initially planned to marry later that same month, but the wedding was postponed due to scheduling conflicts. The engagement also trended again recently when Kuldeep deleted a photograph he had briefly shared with Vanshika.
Kuldeep requests BCCI for wedding leave
According to a Times of India report, Kuldeep and Vanshika are now set to tie the knot in the last week of November 2025. Due to this, the star spinner has requested leave from the BCCI, which might see him miss the second Test of the ongoing India-South Africa series.
Meanwhile, the cricketer has been in outstanding form, taking 12 wickets against West Indies, performing strongly in the IPL 2025 for Delhi Capitals, and playing crucial roles for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup and 2025 Champions Trophy. In the first Test of the ongoing series against South Africa in Kolkata, the 30-year-old finished with figures of 2/36 and 2/30, respectively.
