Delhi Capitals Women (DC W) and Gujarat Giants Women (GG W) will take on each other in the Match No. 4 of the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
The three-time finalists will be taking on a team which has never managed to reach the final of the WPL.
The Capitals are being led by star batter Jemimah Rodrigues for this season. The Capitals' management decided on chasing their captain after three successful seasons, but without a title to boast about. However, they were dealt with a loss in their opener against Mumbai Indians. This will be their second match of the season.
Much like the Capitals, the Gujarat-based franchise will also be playing their second game on consecutive days. The Ashleigh Gardner-led side will be keen on leaving their demons of the past behind and get off to a positive start. They also look a much better balanced side than their composition compared to previous seasons.

Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai — Pitch Report
The first WPL match this season went in the hands of the team chasing, mainly due to the presence of dew later on in the match. This particular match is also an evening start. The pitch is usually not the easiest to bat on. However, with the outfield being lush, batters can expect to find good value for grounded shots if played in the gaps.

DC W vs GG W — Probable Best Performers
Probable Best Batter: Shafali Verma
Attacking opening batter Shafali Verma has been in fine nick ahead of the WPL. She top-scored for India in their recent five-match series against Sri Lanka by scoring 241 runs in five matches at a strike-rate of 181.20. The top-order batter can be expected to get the Capitals off to a flying start, and be the difference between Giants and win.
Probable Best Bowler: Ashleigh Gardner
Giants' captain Ashleigh Gardnerhad a successful Women's World Cup with bat and ball. She starred with the ball by picking up 19 wickets in 10 matches at an economy rate of 7.67. However, her start to the WPL wasn't as expected, as she bowled an expensive spell to take a wicket. The spinner, however, will be looking to start afresh in the upcoming contest.
