The 1st Test between Sri Lanka and India is scheduled for August 15 to 19, 2026, at Galle International Stadium. Both sides have named their squads, and the match

2. Dinesh Chandimal vs Mohammed Siraj
Dinesh Chandimal is one of Sri Lanka's most experienced batters and will be expected to anchor the middle order at a ground where he has played many times. He has scored 3000+ runs in Sri Lankan conditions against red-ball which shows his talent and consistency. Mohammed Siraj is India's frontline pace bowler in this series following Jasprit Bumrah's absence.
Siraj's ability to generate movement and maintain pressure in Sri Lankan conditions will be tested against a batter of Chandimal's experience and temperament. The right-arm pacer will play his first Test in Sri Lanka while he will use the white-ball experience to cap off the opposition. 3. Dhananjaya de Silva vs Ravindra Jadeja
Dhananjaya de Silva captains Sri Lanka for this series and is one of the most technically complete batters in the home side. Silva has scored 1500+ runs in Sri Lanka and will look to take control as many sessions as possible in his hands. Ravindra Jadeja is a key member of India's spin attack and brings left-arm orthodox bowling that can be effective on Galle's surface.
