India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the men's cricket final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Saturday. India posted 211 for 6 in 20 overs, while Pakistan was
restricted to 192 for 6. The victory marked a significant achievement for the Indian cricket team at the continental tournament.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshiopened the innings for India in the final and scored 15 off 9 balls, including two sixes, before being dismissed caught by Usman Khan off Saim Ayub's bowling. The 15-year-old's contribution came at a crucial stage of India's innings as the team built towards its total.
Harsh Vardhan, President of the Bihar Cricket Association, extended congratulations to Sooryavanshi on the gold medal achievement. The BCA leader highlighted the significance of a young cricketer from Bihar representing India on such a prestigious international stage.

"Vaibhav has shown remarkable confidence, talent and fearlessness at such a young age. His journey is an inspiration for aspiring cricketers across Bihar, and we are confident that he will continue to achieve greater milestones for India and bring immense pride to Bihar," he added.
Sooryavanshi's achievement holds particular significance in Indian sporting history. At 15 years, 6 months and 6 days, he became the youngest Indian to win an Asian Games gold medal as part of a team. While Saurabh Chaudhary remains the youngest Indian to win an individual Asian Games gold medal, Sooryavanshi's feat represents a milestone for the younger generation of Indian cricketers. BCA Secretary Ziaul Arfin also acknowledged the accomplishment, highlighting its importance for the cricketing community in Bihar.
