The BCCI Junior Cricket Committee has picked the India Men’s U19 squads for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. The tour comprises three one-day and two multi-day
matches.
Anvay Dravid, the younger son of legendary Indian cricketer and T20 World Cup-winning head coach Rahul Dravid, has been picked in the squad for the one-day team as a wicketkeeper-batter. Anvay is also the younger brother of Karnataka cricketer Samit Dravid, the all-rounder who made headlines after his debut in the KSCA Maharaja Trophy with Mysuru Warriors during the 2024 season.
Anvay specialises as a wicketkeeper-batter and is a solid right-handed batter. He gained limelight after string of impressive performances in age-group cricket as a teenager. While it is no doubt that cricket runs in his veins, it will be interesting to see if the youngster is able to match the expectations of fans in the cricket-crazy nation.
Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan will be captaining the Indian contingent in both formats on the tour. On the other hand, Lakshya Raichandani has been given the role to act as Yashbardhan's deputy throughout the tour of the island nation.
The tour will kick off on July 04 with the first one-day match to be played in the port city of Hambantota.
