The Punjab Kings (PBKS) suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) after falling to the Delhi Capitals at the HPCA
Stadium in Dharamshala on Monday, May 11.
PBKS were put into bat by DC and went on to register 210 from their quota of 20 overs. Last year's finalists had two impressive batting displays, by Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer, with the duo scoring 56 and 59, respectively. They also got a healthy finish to their innings, thanks to an excellent cameo from Suryansh Shedge, who hit 21 off just eight balls, an innings comprising two fours and as many sixes.
In reply, DC chased down the total with one over to spare, thanks to Ashutosh Sharma and Madhav Tiwari's power-hitting towards the end. The win was, however, set up thanks to skipper Axar Patel and David Miller, who scored 56 and 51 respectively to help the Capitals recover from an early wobble to make them firm favourites to take the win.
Key moments from the game:
1. Priyansh Arya starts with a bang
PBKS have gotten the habit of seeing Priyansh Arya give them an excellent start to their innings, which always involves a flurry of sixes. The left-handed batter scored 56 off 33 balls, an innings comprising two fours and six massive sixes. The 24-year-old scored his first half-century since mid-April, when he scored 93 against the Lucknow Super Giants in New Chandigarh.
Welcoming the pacers, Priyansh Arya style 😎

2. Axar Patel returning to some form with the bat
Axar Patel has had a torrid time with the bat in this season's IPL, scoring just 44 runs all season before DC's game in Dharamshala. Today, however, the skipper played an excellent knock, scoring 56 off just 30 balls, scoring at a strike-rate of 186.67 to take his side close to the victory and keep them in the tournament. He was partnered well by the returning David Miller, who also scored a 28-ball 51.
Lefties' delight 😎

Following Axar and Miller's heroics with the bat, the honours of finishing the game fell on the shoulders of Ashutosh Sharma and Madhav Tiwari. The pair scored unbeaten 24 and 18 respectively in quick time to help the Capitalschase down the total with one over to spare. Tiwari was declared Player of the Match for his all-round efforts.
