Rohit Sharma was involved in his 75th century partnership in ODI cricket during the third ODI between India and West Indies at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh
Stadium, New Chandigarh on October 3, 2026. The milestone came through a 137-run stand for the third wicket with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who became the 15th batter to share a 100-plus partnership with Rohit in the format.
The partnership arrived at a critical stage of India's innings. The hosts had lost their first two wickets with only four runs on the board after choosing to bat first. Rohit and Gaikwad steadied the innings with their third-wicket stand, and Rohit went on to score 92 off 85 balls before his innings ended. The recovery stand was a significant one given the early collapse, and it underlined Rohit's ability to anchor an innings under pressure at the top of the order.
With 75 such partnerships now to his name, Rohit sits third on the all-time list for century partnerships in ODI cricket, behind only Sachin Tendulkar, who leads with 99, and Virat Kohli, who has 88. The milestone adds another landmark to a record that Rohit has been building across more than a decade of international cricket.
Who are the 15 batters to share a 100-plus ODI partnership with Rohit Sharma?
Ruturaj Gaikwad is the latest addition to a list that spans several generations of Indian batting. The other 14 batters to have shared a century partnership with Rohit in ODIs are Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ambati Rayudu, Ishan Kishan, Ravindra Jadeja and Robin Uthappa.
The list reflects the breadth of Rohit's ODI career, covering partnerships with players from different eras and batting positions. Dhawan, Kohli and Tendulkar are among the most prominent names, having shared long opening and top-order stands with Rohit across multiple tournaments and bilateral series. More recent additions such as Gill, Jaiswal and now Gaikwad underline his continued presence at the top of India's batting order and his ability to build meaningful partnerships with a new generation of Indian batters.
The variety of names on the list also speaks to Rohit's longevity in the format. From veterans such as Dhoni and Raina to current regulars such as Iyer and Kishan, the 15 batters represent a wide cross-section of Indian cricket across different phases of the team's development.
Where does Rohit Sharma stand among ODI batters with the most century partnerships?
Rohit's tally of 75 century partnerships places him third among all batters in ODI history. Tendulkar holds the record with 99 such stands, while Kohli is second with 88. The gap between Rohit and Kohli stands at 13 partnerships, while Rohit trails Tendulkar's all-time record by 24. Rohit's 75th came in the third ODI against West Indies at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, New Chandigarh, a venue also commonly referred to as Mullanpur.
The third-wicket stand with Gaikwad was particularly notable given the match situation. India had slipped to four for two before the pair combined to add 137 runs, giving the innings a platform from which the lower order could build. Rohit's individual contribution of 92 off 85 balls was central to that recovery and formed the backbone of India's total on the day.
The milestone reinforces Rohit's standing as one of the most consistent partnership-builders in the history of ODI cricket. Having now shared century stands with 15 different batters across a career that has spanned multiple World Cups and bilateral series, his place among the format's all-time greats in this particular statistical category is firmly established.
