The Mumbai Indians (MI) will want to finish their disappointing season on a high when they take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium
on Sunday, May 24, in Match 69 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).
MI’s dismal campaign means that the five-time champions cannot finish any higher than ninth in the points table. Hardik Pandya’s side come into the game on the back of a four-wicket defeat at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Meanwhile, qualification for the playoffs is still in RR’s hands, and they do not need to rely on any other teams to give them a favour. The 2008 champions know that a win against MI will see them finish fourth in the standings.
The two sides have already played once earlier this season, with the Royals winning by 27 runs in a rain-affected game in Guwahati.
