Jasprit Bumrah did the unexpected during the Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan on Sunday, September 28 at the Dubai International Cricket
Stadium. After taking the wicket of Haris Rauf, Bumrah gave a perfect response to the Pakistani counterpart by mimicking the 'fighter jet' celebration, marking a moment of revenge from the two sides' previous meeting in the Super Fours clash.
The wicket came during the eighteenth over, as Bumrah charged in to bowl his third over of the night. Rauf failed to pick a searing full-length ball, which broke the defence of the batter. This resulted in the fall of ninth wicket for the Men in Green, while Bumrah got his first of the game, after having conceded 18 off his first couple of overs in Dubai.

The penultimate wicket of the innings was followed by the last a little while later, as the Ahmedabad-born returned to bowl the last over, this time sending Mohammad Nawaz packing. Rinku Singh at the deep mid-wicket region was the man who completed a simple catch, resulting in the Salman Ali Agha-side getting bundled out for just 146 runs, setting the Indians an easy target to chase. Apart from Bumrah, left-arm unorthodox spinner Kuldeep Yadav shone with an astonishing four-wicket haul, three of which came in the seventeenth over.
Kuldeep's spell completely broke the back of Pakistani batting, and helped the Suryakumar Yadav-led side stage an emphatic comeback in the second half of the innings, as they had opted to field first. Additionally, Varun Chakravarthy also completed his four overs' quota, accounting for a couple of wickets that saw the dismissals of the opening duo of Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman.
Now, the onus to chase the 147-run target will be upon the Indian batting unit, where openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill have their task cut out.
