Batting first at Korogi Sports Park, India posted 211 for six in 20 overs, with half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (61) and Tilak Varma (51 not out).
Pakistan, in reply, finished at 192 for six despite a 50-ball 96 from Hasan Nawaz, who hit seven sixes and five fours.
Axar Patel was India’s leading bowler, returning figures of 2/29 in four overs. A Minhas and A Daniyal took two wickets each for Pakistan.
India’s women’s team had also successfully defended its gold medal earlier in the Asian Games.
