Formula 1 championship leaders McLaren Racing Ltd have been valued at £3 billion in a recent stake sale, Bloomberg reports. Bahrain sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat and Abu Dhabi-based CYVN Holdings will assume complete control of
the racing team by acquiring the 30% stake owned by MSP Sports Capital and other minority shareholders, who had bought into the team in 2020 at a valuation of £560 million.
Formula 1 teams have seen a massive rise in their estimates off late, with even Aston Martin looking to pursue a £2.4 billion valuation in their latest stake sale. Unlike McLaren, the Lawrence Stroll-owned side are nowhere near the top half of the table in either the drivers' or the constructors' championship.
