Fortnite's servers are currently undergoing extensive maintenance, a necessary step for the highly anticipated Chapter 7 Season 2 update, codenamed 'Showdown.'
This major patch, version v40.00, introduces a wealth of new content designed to keep the player base thoroughly engaged for the upcoming months. The downtime began precisely at 2:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) and is slated to conclude around 7:00 AM ET. During this period, access to all game modes—Battle Royale, Zero Build, Creative Mode, and even LEGO Fortnite—will be unavailable across all platforms. This significant maintenance window ensures that Epic Games can seamlessly implement all the new features and enhancements that define the new season, allowing players to experience the revamped game world once operations resume.
Global Downtime Schedules
The server maintenance for Fortnite's Chapter 7 Season 2 update is carefully timed to accommodate players worldwide. Commencing at 2:00 AM ET (11:00 PM PT on March 18, 2026) and concluding around 7:00 AM ET (4:00 AM PT on March 19, 2026), this downtime affects all players. For North America, timings are as follows: Pacific Time (PT) users experience downtime from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM, Mountain Time (MT) from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM, Central Time (CT) from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM, and Eastern Time (ET) from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM. European players can note the following: Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Central European Time (CET) from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Eastern European Time (EET) from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In Asia, India Standard Time (IST) runs from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Japan Standard Time (JST) from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Singapore Standard Time (SGT) from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Lastly, Oceania regions observe Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and New Zealand Daylight Time (NZDT) from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM on March 20.
