Noida's electricity providers are embarking on an ambitious project to meticulously map their entire power distribution network using advanced Global Positioning
System (GPS) technology. This comprehensive survey aims to create a detailed digital blueprint of all electrical infrastructure across the district. By pinpointing the exact location of every component, from poles and transformers to panel boxes and substations, the initiative seeks to enhance operational oversight. The process involves assigning unique identification codes to critical assets like transformers, ensuring precise tracking and management. This digital transformation is a significant step towards modernizing power utility operations and improving service delivery to residents.
Enhanced Efficiency & Fault Rectification
The integration of GPS technology is set to dramatically improve how power-related issues are managed. By having a precise digital map of the network, officials can swiftly identify the location of any localized power disruptions or faults. This enables rapid dispatch of technical teams to the exact site, significantly reducing the time taken for diagnosis and repair. This extensive mapping effort covers a vast network serving approximately 4.75 lakh consumers across Noida and Greater Noida. The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) network in the district encompasses over 150 substations and more than 24,000 transformers, serving both urban and rural expanses. The digitized infrastructure will provide real-time insights into power distribution, enabling better load management and a more responsive service. This transition to a digital platform is designed to streamline operations, improve the overall reliability of the power supply, and ultimately enhance the consumer experience through more efficient and dependable service delivery.
