Seamless Score Access
Accessing your crucial credit score is now more convenient than ever, thanks to the integration of TransUnion CIBIL's services within the BHIM Payments
App. Developed by NPCI BHIM Services Limited, this feature allows users to view and monitor their CIBIL Score and Credit Information Report (CIR) directly through the app. This innovative functionality operates on a customer consent basis, meaning your sensitive financial data is only accessed with your explicit permission. The integration aims to democratize credit information access, making it readily available to a wider audience and fostering better financial management habits among users by providing a clear overview of their credit standing.
Checking Your Score
To effortlessly check your CIBIL score using the BHIM app, begin by opening the application and locating the 'Free CIBIL Score' option, usually accessible by swiping down. Clicking this option will present you with detailed information regarding the CIBIL Score, data privacy policies, and any applicable score check limits. The next step involves entering your PAN Card number, followed by your first and last name exactly as they appear on your PAN Card. After accepting the terms and conditions, proceed to the next stage. Upon successful verification, your CIBIL Score will be displayed directly on the screen, offering an immediate snapshot of your creditworthiness without the need for external websites or additional applications.
Disputing Inaccuracies
If you identify any errors or inaccuracies within your CIBIL Score or Credit Information Report accessed through the BHIM app, a straightforward online dispute process is available. The first step involves logging in to check your latest CIBIL report; new users will need to enroll first. Once logged in, carefully identify the specific errors present in your report. Following this, you can initiate a dispute directly through the platform. After raising the dispute, you can conveniently log back into the system to track the status of your dispute resolution, ensuring transparency and keeping you informed throughout the process.
Other Checking Platforms
While the BHIM app offers a convenient way to check your CIBIL score, it's one of several platforms now providing this essential financial tool. You can also access your CIBIL score and report through TransUnion CIBIL's dedicated app and official website. Other popular digital payment and banking applications also offer this feature, including Google Pay, SBI Yono App, CRED, ICICI Bank's net banking portal, Amazon Pay app, and Paytm. Additionally, dedicated financial platforms like OneScore and Paisabazaar are available for users seeking to monitor their credit health, providing a variety of options to suit different user preferences and existing digital ecosystems.
Dispute Resolution FAQs
Understanding common issues in your credit report is vital. If a recent payment on a loan or credit card isn't reflected, remember that financial institutions typically take 15-30 days to report these updates to TransUnion CIBIL. If it's been over 30 days, you should raise a dispute following the outlined steps, and resolution may take up to another 30 days depending on the bank's response time. For closed or paid-off accounts that still show as open or unpaid, the same process applies; allow 15-30 days for reporting, and then initiate a dispute if the error persists. Closed accounts will remain visible on your report indefinitely; CIBIL cannot alter or remove information without confirmation from the reporting bank or financial institution, as per the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act of 2005.
