Yesterday on September 15, after receiving a roaring applause, Cooper thanked the cast and crew of Adolescence, as well as his parents. “Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple years back, I didn’t expect to be in the United States, never mind here, but I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life. I was nothing about three years ago and I’m here now. Who cares if you get embarrassed? Anything can be possible,” he said. With this win, Cooper broke past records set by Michael A. Goorjian, who was 23 when he won in the same category back in 1994, and Scott Jacoby, who at just 16 became the youngest male actor to receive any Primetime Emmy acting award for That Certain Summer in 1973. Cooper’s milestone is not only historic but also a reflection of the rare talent and remarkable maturity he displays on screen at such a young age. In June, Adolescence emerged as Netflix’s second most-watched English-language series, surpassing Stranger Things Season 4 and ranking just behind Wednesday. With over 141 million views in its first three months, the show further solidified Cooper’s status as a rising star in the industry.
