Recently, Shilpa and Raj were reportedly accused of defrauding a businessman of about Rs 60 crore. According to NDTV’s report, a lookout notice was issued against the actress and her businessman-turned-actor husband.There were reports that Rs 15 crore was diverted to her company by Raj Kundra. Her lawyer issued an official statement, dismissing the speculation. In an official statement, Shilpa's lawyer mentioned, "At the outset, we would like to state that this piece of information is totally fake and mischievous, intentionally planted in the public domain to defame my client."The statement further read, "We shall go to the root of mischief and adopt the due process of law to file criminal proceedings and civil damages against all the news articles circulated mischievously to defame my client." It has also been mentioned that Shilpa never received amount of Rs 15 crore. "At this stage, we cannot reveal anything further as the matter is sub judice."The statement ended with a warning that those who published 'fake stories' and 'unverified facts' shall face the consequences for their action in the 'court of law'.
