Working with Ranbir and his growth as an actor
As a reminder, Manish played the strict stubborn boss in Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009), and newspaper editor Jimmy Mistry in Bombay Velvet (2015), sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in both the films. Recalling Ranbir's work and reacting to his growth as an actor, Manish told Filmygyan in an interview, "We shot Rocket Singh in 2009 and we shot Bombay Velvet in 2014. Not much time had passed for Ranbir (in the industry). Yes he was popular and a star, but as an actor's growth, he had four or five years. Then it really began. So I think in the last 10 years since Bombay Velvet, Ranbir has really grown leaps and bounds, and he's really so fantastically watchable."His favourite Ranbir Kapoor film
When asked about his favourite Ranbir Kapoor film, Manish picked a title that many might give a miss. "It's funny. And I told him this, and he laughed at me many years ago, I really like him in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. It was such an innocent character, and he pulled it off fantastically. He didn't believe it when I said that I love you in that film. He said I'm joking!" Manish further expressed, "It's an outstanding film. It's a commercial film, and he's done an outstanding part. Katrina is great in it too, and what a lovely story. It touches your heart. And it's true, I like him in that. What can I do!"Manish has also been part of popular projects like Powder, Aarya, Bombay Begums, apart from films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Batla House, Satyameva Jayate, Sanam Teri Kasam, Band Baaja Baaraat and many more.Do you find this article useful?
