In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Massey reflected on his journey, revealing that he faced severe burnout symptoms and shared why he took a much-needed break from films.

Talking to Times Now Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar, Massey said: "Physically exhausted, I mentioned this thing in my interview then that I was facing severe burnout symptoms, I was almost sleep walking. Pehle toh neend poori karni thi, thoda sa ghar ka khana khana tha, (First, I needed to catch up on sleep, I wanted to eat some home-cooked food) wanted to spend time with my son, with my mum and dad and probably take that holiday which I did, so do normal things. It was very very important and I'm glad I did that. Had I not done that, I think I was anticipating severe meltdown. He further explained the emotional toll that work had taken on his family life: "Most of my memory at that time of him saying papa for the first time was through a video which my wife had sent. Kya hi success ka faida hai jab jiske liye kaam kar rahe ho vo experience nahi kar pa rahe ho. (What’s the use of success if you can’t experience the moments you are working for?) You made a big home but you are not able to live in it. You are sleeping in hotels, you are sleeping in cars and flights. You made a house and a family to live in that house with that family. When you are not able to do that… and I very vividly remember one thing that actually made me take that decision — uska daant aaya tha, uske do daant aaye the chote chote neeche se (He was teething; two little teeth had come in from below) and I was missing all those moments. And that is such a natural progression, it never stops. They will keep growing, and that is the rhythm of life that will continue. Work can stop for a year, but this cannot stop, and that’s why I went back home."Do you find this article useful?
