Mythri Movie Makers have backed Ram Charan's 2018 film Rangasthalam which revolved around themes such as honour killings and caste based prejudice. They have also backed Pradeep Ranganathan's recent Diwali release Dude, which features a tale about caste based honour killings.

During the meet, a reporter asked Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar if the production house is intentionally producing films which highlight honour killings and if it was done in a way to change the mindset of the youth. To which the producer responded "honour killings in these films are part of the stories...they aren't the central theme. It is not the center point of the story. Perhaps, you have interpreted it differently".Dude, which also stars Mamitha Baiju, Sarath Kumar and Rohini tells the story of two cousins, who have a fall out when one isn't able to reciprocate love. When he begins to repent for his loss, things have gotten too far as his lady love falls for someone else. Dude talks about how the protagonist makes things work for the one he loves, despite her father's strong values against inter caste marriages.
